MiraSkinLab or a trichoscopy exam?
Trichoscopy is a magnified look at your scalp and hair shafts by a trichologist or dermatologist, often with measurements. MiraSkinLab reads ordinary photos, including one of the top of your head, and describes what is visible. It can't magnify, measure or diagnose, and it costs less.
€49 vs €80. MiraSkinLab costs less, but it is not a substitute for the exam if you need to know why your hair is changing.
Book the exam, not an app, when
- hair is coming out suddenly, in patches or in large amounts
- your scalp is itchy, painful, scaly or inflamed
- thinning started after an illness, a new medicine or a big life change
- you want to know the cause, or are considering medicine
MiraSkinLab fits when
- you want a hair and scalp care routine without a medical concern
- you want comparable photos of your crown and temples every few months
- you want skin and hair covered in one written plan
Using both
A scan before and after the exam gives you comparable photos of the crown and temples over time, which is hard to get on your own. The specialist's advice comes first.
The score and a preview are free; you pay €49 only if you want the full assessment.
